I’m an impatient movie and series watcher. There is marginally more patience reading stories - am guessing it is because there’s a bit more explaining in a book, yet in a movie or show there is more showing. I used to be a lot more emotional and involved, but have calmed down on things a bit… especially since I realized something.
Weaknesses drive the Story.
Yep, that was me, once upon a time, yelling at the screen “OMG - how hard can it be?!” or turning to the person watching with me: “Who writes this stuff? How do they get paid?!”
And yet, most stories are focused on weakness: overcoming a weakness, in spite of a weakness, or because of a weakness. If the characters were balanced and strong, there would be no drive, direction, no twists - there would be nothing at all. There would be nothing to resolve, no closure to seek. Captivating stories have a character development arc, moving from weakness to strength. They have a power development arc, via engagement with something other than the character - a mindset, belief, situation, person, having more power over them than themselves. They have a value shift development arc, from holding on to an old version of self, to welcoming the new. However without weaknesses, we are left with:
He left.
She cried.
He returned and apologized.
They both smiled and said, let’s still be friends (and, because both are perfect and balanced, they actually mean it). Shook hands and hugged.
Sun sets.
The End.
But noooooooo - it‘s the moments we can’t, the moments we don’t want to, the moments we have to due to the weaknesses of others, the moments we miss the target that define and shape our stories and our lives. Our lives are our Story, one we consistently work on and write, day to day. It’s the moments we are vulnerable, fallible, inconsistent, moody, random, traumatized… weak in our principles, that move and shift the story and the trajectory.
That is our secret and hidden strength, our way to escape the programming of what I call the Second Consciousness: via mastering our weaknesses, by accepting and trusting those weaknesses and what they point to. There are non-human entities and beings without our understanding of weakness, but it is through our weaknesses that we are unpredictable, and through our unpredictability is how we creatively escape predictable programming. It’s our ability to allow weakness to work with us that makes us special: since we are constantly fighting to eradicate weakness, we don’t see it.
Like the child that suddenly starts to wail in a perfectly peaceful and idyllic setting, through our weaknesses, we are pattern disruptors compelling our Consciousness to look closer at things and thus to further growth. Our weakness, which drives Creativity. Good storylines also always contain an element of learning, or, inclusion of additional information into an established order of understanding holding limited information. Weakness is a tool that allows the opening of Consciousness to occur, to question the established programming, to define new limits, and integrate new concepts, so there is now more than there was before, which equals growth.
This doesn’t mean blindly indulging in a weakness is the right thing to act out and do, and it’s ok to move without restraints through life, but looking to where an acknowledged weakness points to, ensures you don’t miss out.
(Harming self or others is not advocated, nor a part of this discussion.)
So the next time we get upset that a character turned left and left the group, or went into the basement alone (duh!) or answered the phone, or get upset at the male lead that decides to invest in a clearly shady business partner promising quick returns, or a character becomes knowingly more invested in her non-appreciative job than she should, or almost any other weakness in the character line, realize this is what drives the plot and allows for more, more Awareness, Consciousness, Expansion and more Story to come in. And if the worst happens early on, we know the main character won’t be done with, otherwise there is no two-hour movie to tell.
That’s all we’re doing here… writing stories. Whether it be mindset, beliefs, relationships, experiences, accomplishments, achievements, discoveries, deeds, overcoming, helping, assisting: it’s all Stories.
Have Compassion for yourself and your mistakes through your weaknesses, realize these are built in tools to drive your Story forward, not what we have been told that your weakness is a deficiency, and move towards healing by recognizing without those decisions, you wouldn’t be who you are and there would be no Story. You wouldn’t have gained the Consciousness you have. Realize that with others as well - they had to make those mistakes in their lives, in order to expand the field. Forgive. Others are often inspired by what you have overcome, not what you have done perfectly from the start.
Realize that Weakness is a Tool, not something to be dismissed or annihilated. It is the mechanical sparring teacher pointing out the best and the most in you and in others. Especially if you have a tough sparring teacher, if you’re not broken by it, the story is unmatched in inspiration - and what we call Light - Growth Consciousness. Such as a recovered alcoholic turned motivational speaker. Someone who wrote their story, sparred with their Weakness, becomes Inspirational - and the Light they transmit is profound. The fighting is actually an assertion of a benevolent energy, consciousness stream, concept or belief, affirming it against whatever is trying to tear it down. Weakness teaches you exactly… where the weak spot is, or the doorway in for the “other” energy. Fighting becomes a co-creation, not a life threat, where you are the only one that can find and implement the solution, but this will certainly help you get there.
The side of ourselves addicted to comfort will resent all this. It will. But if you want to be an Olympian for example, you’ll need this sparring partner, and an acceptance of your weakness, and the willingness to work for it, to support what it points to that it lacks and needs. There is no need to fight vulnerability or weakness, or against it, but to fight through it, not intending to destroy it, but intending to assert a different belief and reality more… intention is key - until the weakness itself lets go and claims defeat, and is no more. But again, in the right amounts and doses, perfect for you and your unfolding - and you have to be mindful of the narrative or Story, you spin about the sparring, in your mind.
We all have Sparring Teachers, don’t feel disadvantaged because you are so “weak”! Don’t get down on yourself! You got this! And who knows? The stories Life writes are often stranger than Fiction as we all know… your story may be one that people need to hear!!

Yes, yes we are… It’s not about having anymore, it’s about being. The limits of growth and expansion or realizations via experiencing the material, which is a finite realm, is almost reached - already. Even if we find other worlds, if within the material, the game is the same, one of limitation, because that is the nature of the material. To continue growing and expanding the awareness of higher frequencies becomes more obvious as we leave the material. They are already there, these frequencies, and have always been - we are simply collectively becoming aware of them now…
